Actress Go Min Si has withdrawn from an upcoming public event, amid growing controversy surrounding allegations of school bullying.
Go Min Si was originally scheduled to attend a brand event in Seoul on the 29th, but it was confirmed on the 28th that she had canceled her appearance. The event will still feature other celebrities, including actors Kim Seon Ho, Lee Min Jung, footballer Hwang Hee Chan (Wolverhampton), aespa’s Giselle, and BOYNEXTDOOR members Taesan and Woonhak.
Recently, Go Min Si faced allegations from individuals claiming to be her middle school classmates. On May 26, anonymous users posted on an online forum, accusing the actress of extorting money, verbal abuse, physical assault, and mocking students with disabilities during her school years.
In response, her agency Mystic Story issued a statement denying all allegations, saying, “After checking through various channels including the actress herself, we have confirmed that these claims are completely groundless.”
Amid the ongoing controversy, Go Min Si is reportedly also reconsidering her participation in post-finale interviews for the currently airing Genie original drama The Taste of You.
Meanwhile, a person identified as a former classmate—who was also named in the allegations—responded via Instagram on the 27th, stating, “Whether it was in middle or high school, I never bullied anyone. I hope you bring evidence. I’m not afraid. Isn’t hiding behind anonymous posts like this the real form of violence?”
