Actor Bae Seong Woo, who was involved in a drunk driving controversy, appeared on 'SNL Korea Season 7,' reconnecting with viewers.
In the eighth episode of 'SNL Korea Season 7,' released on May 24th via Coupang Play, Bae Seong Woo appeared as the main host and performed a variety of comedy sketches.
When he appeared on stage, Bae looked visibly nervous. Host Shin Dong Yup introduced him as “the actor who dominates the screen with his intense gaze, Bae Seong Woo.”
Shin then asked, “You must be feeling a mix of emotions right now. It seems like you might be getting emotional. How does it feel to see so many audience members cheering for you as you come out?” Bae responded, “I actually debuted in musicals and have done a lot of theater, so I thought I would be okay. But seeing everyone in person made me a bit emotional. I am very nervous and tense.”
Shin Dong Yup added, “You filmed outdoors with our crew, right? Among our production team, there are many female producers and writers who became fans of yours. They said you showed great manners and led by example on set.” Bae replied humbly, “I was worried that I might be a burden or that I wanted to help in any way I could. Hearing that means a lot to me.”
Shin then joked, “With all that popularity, it is hard to believe you are still single. What kind of person do you like? Luckily, some of the female crew are here — Ahn Young Mi, Jung Yi Rang, and Lee Soo Ji.” Bae, appearing slightly uncomfortable, said, “All three are very charming, but fortunately, they are all married.”
Shin pressed, “If they were not married, who would you like?” Bae answered, “There are no ‘ifs’ in life.” This made the female crew playfully bite their candy sticks like smoking cigarettes, which made everyone laugh.
Previously, in 2020, Bae Seong Woo was booked by police for drunk driving. He was caught driving after drinking with friends in Gangnam, Seoul, with a blood alcohol level high enough to have his license canceled. After the incident, Bae stepped down from the drama 'Delayed Justice,' and fellow agency actor Jung Woo Sung took over his role.
After taking time to reflect, Bae made his comeback last year with the film 'Secret: Untold Melody' and the Netflix original series 'The 8 Show.'
