Actor Lee Si Uhn has reached 150,000 subscribers on YouTube. However, he made a surprising revelation about his earnings, disclosing that he had made zero income from the platform for two and a half years.
On April 1, a video titled 'Oh Yeon Seo’s Room Tour, But Why Is Sian Here?' was uploaded to Oh Yeon Seo’s YouTube channel. In the video, Oh Yeon Seo showcased her home before visiting a restaurant in Heukseok-dong, where she introduced a special guest.
"A very special guest is coming today—the handsome actor Lee Si Uhn," she said. "I have made many free appearances on his YouTube channel, and he promised to help me when I started my own."
When asked how he has been doing recently, Lee Si Uhn responded, "I’m currently filming a drama." Oh Yeon Seo then credited him for playing a crucial role in her decision to start YouTube. "When I was contemplating whether to do YouTube, he told me, ‘You absolutely should,’" she shared.
Lee Si Uhn then made a surprising confession: "I’ve been on YouTube for three years, and I’ve just reached 150,000 subscribers. But for two and a half years, I had zero income."
Hearing this, Oh Yeon Seo playfully teased him, saying, "That’s because you weren’t working hard. You’re only now putting in the effort." Lee Si Uhn admitted, "After my 100,000-subscriber celebration, I’ve been more motivated."
As Oh Yeon Seo embarks on her own YouTube journey, she asked Lee Si Uhn for words of encouragement. He advised, "Give it two to three years, and things will get better. Think long-term. Don’t get discouraged just because it doesn’t work out immediately. You’ll do well."
Lee Si Uhn’s candid revelation sheds light on the challenges of building a successful YouTube channel, even for established celebrities.
