SBS has joined forces with SM Entertainment and SM C&C to launch a new audition project.
On March 17, an SBS representative announced, “We are launching a new audition project. ‘Our Ballad’ is set to air in the second half of this year.”
'Our Ballad' is a music audition program by SBS, following in the footsteps of 'K-Pop Star,' which previously discovered talents like AKMU, Jung Seung Hwan, BIBI, and Car, the Garden. This time, domestic entertainment agencies are also participating. SM Entertainment and SM C&C will take part in the search for emerging vocal talents in the industry.
The show will aim beyond capturing the essence of the traditional ballad genre, and will illustrate the emotions of the times and introduce new voices that represent the present generation. It will also feature reinterpretations of legendary songs.
To achieve this, a team of renowned producers and writers has come together. 'K-pop star' producer Jung Ik Seung and 'Culinary Class Wars' writer Mo Eun Seol will be leading the project.
SBS stated, “This project brings together the expertise of top companies. Expect an unforgettable battle of legendary songs that will touch the hearts of music fans.”
Meanwhile, 'Our Ballad' has officially opened participant applications starting today. Interested applicants can apply through the official website through the QR code provided.
