Ahreum alleged a fraudster is using her name to extort money from her family and acquaintances.

On March 23, the former T-ara member took to social media, stating, "Someone is extorting money by using my name. I'm currently in the hospital, but I have no problems with money right now. Since yesterday, my phone was taken away, and they've been acting like they're me. I was looking out for fraud and became sure of it, so I called the police."

Ahreum continued, "They've extorted money from my family and acquaintances. I hope there are no more victims." She later added, "I've never sent any messages, and I don't want there to be any victims."

Ahreum is currently in the process of filing for divorce from her husband with whom she has 2 sons. She suddenly announced her pending divorce and her new boyfriend in December of last year, revealing she plans to marry her boyfriend as soon as her divorce proceedings are completed. Since then, her fiance has been the subject of numerous rumors, which resulted in his attempted suicide, and Ahreum has further claimed her legal husband abused her and her children.
