Actor Kang Kyung Joon hires an attorney after Cheating Allegations

Actor Kang Kyung Joon, who faced allegations of engaging in an extramarital affair and was sued for alimony, has officially retained legal representation, as reported by the Sunday Newspaper on January 19.

Kang Kyung Joon is under suspicion of having an affair with a married female employee, Ms. A, at a real estate agency. Ms. A's husband, Mr. B, filed a lawsuit on December 26, accusing Kang Kyung Joon of having an affair with his wife and demanding 50 million KRW (37,500 USD) in alimony. In response, Kang Kyung Joon has taken the step of hiring an attorney.

However, it seems he is taking the matter seriously. A report from Sunday Newspaper indicates that he has hired a lawyer. The delay in announcing this might be because the lawyer hasn't submitted the appointment record to the court.

There's media speculation about why Kang Kyung Joon hired a lawyer but didn't formally tell the court. It's suggested that instead of preparing for a legal battle, he might be using the lawyer to help reach a settlement with Mr. B.

In response to queries about Kang Kyung Joon's willingness to reach an agreement, Mr. B's lawyer stated, "We cannot confirm it," subtly indicating that Kang Kyung Joon's side has initiated discussions about a possible agreement.

A lawyer from Seocho-dong explained, "In cases involving celebrities in lawsuits related to extramarital affairs and alimony, confidentiality clauses are usually included when settling through an agreement," highlighting the challenge of these details becoming public through the media.
