Former (G)I-DLE member Soojin reportedly preparing her solo debut

Former (G)I-DLE member Soojin is reportedly debuting as a solo artist soon. 

According to media reports on October 16th KST, the former girl group member is currently preparing to make her official debut as a solo artist. This marks her return to the entertainment industry in approximately 2 years and 8 months. 

Previously in 2021, Soojin became embroiled in controversy following allegations of school violence raised by a former schoolmate. Soojin initially denied the accusations, but when it was revealed that even actor Seo Shin Ae had been a victim of bullying during their school days, a significant wave of backlash ensued. Consequently, Soojin departed from (G)I-DLE later that year, and her exclusive contract with Cube Entertainment was terminated. 

Soojin filed reports to the police against the accusers but the police and the prosecution dismissed the case due to lack of evidence proving their intent to spread false information. 

Nevertheless, Soojin's legal representative released a statement, "In her first year of middle school, Seo Soojin was acquitted by the School Violence Countermeasures Autonomous Committee and was recognized as a victim of coercion from her seniors." This statement aimed to emphasize her innocence once again.
