Netizens react to multiple brands removing Yoo Ah In from advertisements due to drug use investigation

AKP STAFF

Netizens are reacting to Yoo Ah In's situation with his advertisement deals.

Due to his ongoing drug use investigation, media outlets have reported that multiple brands have removed the actor from their advertisements. In the comments section, netizens are reacting that "his fans providing excuses involving his sleep problems" could harm his reputation even more.

Furthermore, netizens are asserting how it is "disheartening" to see someone who was often noted for his personal uniqueness and fearless ways of sharing opinions is now considered as a negative influence.

Other comments include:

"There are no secrets in this world"
"I mean, endorsements are his problem but what about his other dramas and films? I can't believe his irresponsibility is going to have an impact on his fellow actors and actresses who have been working with him"
"What about the three other media works he's been on"

"Being humble is more important than seeming intelligent or unique..."
"I just don't like hypocritical attitudes about being 'woke' and stuff but not being transparent about other things like this"
"There are still so many people who support him on IG though"

What are your reactions?

Using drugs has nothing to do with humbleness or lack thereof.

Also, the second comment doesn't make sense; how is it 'hypocritical' to not reveal every single thing you do, especially the things which are illegal. Hell, it's highly likely that drug use is not something he wants to advocate for despite partaking in. It's dangerous. Why does this person find it hypocritical that he wasn't transparent when, in this case, to be transparent would be to the detriment of himself (as we can see now) and potentially others (who might be influenced by him)?
