AKP STAFF

On July 19, YG Entertainment relayed on behalf of BLACKPINK's Jennie, "Jennie has been cast in HBO's 'The Idol'."

Produced by Abel "The Weeknd" Tesfaye, 'The Idol' stars Lily-Rose Depp, Troye Sivan, Tunde Adebimpe, and more and follows the life of a Hollywood pop star and her involvement in various figures behind the scenes in the music industry.

While more details on Jennie's role in 'The Idol' have yet to be revealed, the BLACKPINK member relayed through her label, "As soon as I read the scenario, I thought that the story was very charming and so I wanted to be a part of it. I'm excited and I'll do my best, so I hope that everyone will tune in warmly."

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK plan to make a comeback some time in August of this year.

more like YG crafted and released a statement… I’m just SMH at how ppl are overreacting, YG isn’t dumb enough to risk their money makers’ reputations, I doubt she has a large role in this.
