Recently there has been a heated debate over WayV's Xiaojun as fans have been attempting to clarify his recent remark that caused controversy.
During one of Xiaojun's recent live broadcasts, he caused a stir by making a remark that was misunderstood by many as being misogynistic. However, this misunderstanding came about due to a mistranslation from a Twitter user.
According to some netizens, a Twitter user claimed that Xiaojun made a remark saying that a person must exercise their voice, so they don't sound weak like a woman. Apparently, this translation was a misinterpretation of what the idol was actually saying.
Since then, many of his fans have banded together to resolve his misunderstanding as many native Chinese speakers took to social media to explain what the idol member must have meant.

xiaojun: you need to train your vocal cords to be stronger. don't.. (he didn't finish this sentence) like a woman's vocal cords really they need to 宠 they need to 宠, but don't overdue the 宠 until it's + pic.twitter.com/5fzpRzVEK8
i’m so pissed that this one mistranslation caused so many misunderstandings and even caused people with xiaojun layouts to get d*ath threats :/ pic.twitter.com/xKOovxkFN4

okay so i speak mandarin and i’ve seen a lot of mistranslations about the whole xiaojun situation. he only compared vocal chords to how you should treat women (delicately and carefully) and everything else he said after that was about vocal chords. + pic.twitter.com/XrhOgwWqyZ

I’m sorry but the correct translation is: “voices need to be trained - they need to be pampered too like how women should be pampered. but voices shouldn’t be pampered (t/n: used with such care) to the extent that it becomes prone to giving up (t/n: 嬌), that’s not ok” https://t.co/BbPlTlxjhD
