At a press screening and media conference held on December 3 at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Seoul, Netflix introduced its new original series 'The Price of Confession' (written by Kwon Jong Kwan and directed by Lee Jeong Hyo).
Director Lee attended the event along with cast members Jeon Do Yeon, Kim Go Eun, and Park Hae Soo, and the team shared insights into the production.
Jeon Do Yeon explained that she agreed to the project even before receiving the script. “Honestly, when the director first approached me, he did not give me the script,” she said. “I did not even know the title 'The Price of Confession.' He simply said, ‘I am starting a project. It is a thriller about two women.’ I had great chemistry with him while working on 'The Good Wife,' and I loved that series. I already hoped to work with him again in the future. Since I had never done a thriller before, the genre appealed to me. I immediately accepted the offer, and I received the script much later.”
Kim Go Eun shared that she had encountered an early version of the script years ago. “I actually saw a draft about four or five years ago during the early planning stage,” she said. “It was nothing concrete, more of a casual ‘Do you want to take a look?’ After that, I focused on other projects. When I later heard that Jeon Do Yeon was joining, I revisited the script and it felt completely different from what I had read before. Instead of spending time worrying or analyzing details, I simply felt confident and said, ‘I can do this.’ I told them, ‘Please cast me. I can do it well.’”

'The Price of Confession' is a mystery thriller that follows An Yun Su, a woman framed as a suspect in her husband’s murder, and Mo Eun, an enigmatic figure known to many as a witch. The story explores the dangerous secrets that arise between the two women. The series is director Lee Jeong Hyo’s latest work following 'Crash Landing on You' and 'The Good Wife.'
It also reunites Jeon Do Yeon and Kim Go Eun ten years after their collaboration in the film 'Memories of the Sword.' Jeon plays An Yun Su, who becomes a murder suspect overnight and accepts a perilous offer in order to reclaim her life. Kim portrays Mo Eun, the mysterious woman who proposes that dangerous deal. Park Hae Soo appears as prosecutor Baek Dong Hoon, who relentlessly seeks to uncover the truth behind their secrets.
'The Price of Confession' will premiere on Netflix on December 5.
