A knife attack at a motel in Changwon, South Korea, left three people dead and one seriously injured, according to police reports released on December 3.
Authorities stated that around 5 p.m., a teenage girl, identified as A, called the emergency hotline 112 from a four-story motel in Masanhwawon District. Although A said nothing specific during the call, police officers reportedly heard yelling and someone shouting “Stop!” in the background. Police then requested immediate joint emergency response from the Gyeongnam Fire Department.
When firefighters arrived at the scene, they found the suspect, a man in his 20s identified as B, lying outside the motel after an apparent fall. Inside a bathroom in the building, responders discovered A and two other teenagers, identified as C and D, suffering from stab wounds.
All four individuals were transported to a nearby hospital, but A, B, and C were pronounced dead. D remains in critical condition and is currently undergoing treatment.
Investigators believe that B checked into the motel alone around 3 p.m. and had contacted A to meet him there. C and D are thought to have accompanied A and were subsequently caught up in the attack.
Police are continuing to investigate the precise circumstances and motive behind the incident.
