A new junior group to STAYC is set to enter the K-pop scene. Highup Entertainment is launching its first rookie girl group in approximately six years, following the debut of STAYC.
According to an exclusive report by Ilgan Sports on December 3, Highup Entertainment plans to debut its new girl group UNCHILD in the first half of next year.
Among the lineup is 2009-born dancer and creator Na Ha Eun, who rose to fame as a child dance prodigy on the SBS variety show 'Star King.' Her addition is heightening expectations for the emergence of a performance-driven girl group.
While the exact number of members has yet to be revealed, insiders say the company is investing substantial effort into preparing UNCHILD as the next-generation act to follow STAYC.
Highup Entertainment was founded in 2017 by producing duo Black Eyed Pilseung in partnership with CJ ENM. In 2018, Black Eyed Pilseung acquired CJ ENM’s shares, making the company independent from the entertainment giant. Highup later introduced girl group STAYC in 2020. STAYC has since grown into one of the leading fourth-generation girl groups, producing consecutive hits such as “ASAP” and “Teddy Bear.”
