Thank You Postcards takes over Twitter as BTS’ V’s Global Fanbase hosts appreciation projects to celebrate the fourth anniversary of “I Purple You.”

The color purple is often associated with nobility, power, and ambition. However, four years ago, a boy from South Korea created history with his vision and sincerity adding love and trust as representatives of the color.

The story of how and when BTS’s V coined “I Purple You” is one of the most well-known and heartwarming stories in pop culture and rightfully so. Today, the term “I Purple You” or “보라해” in Korean is a universal term used to express everlasting love and trust. Today, cities color themselves in shades of purple to honor the global pop group. Today, it has become a brand, a phenomenon etched into the hearts of millions.

To commemorate the fourth anniversary of “I Purple You,” the global fanbase of the star, V UNION hosted an appreciation project to celebrate his remarkable artistry through Thank You postcards.

The fanbase has stated that they particularly chose postcards for the project inspired by V’s creative approach as the Visual Director to release/include individual postcards in their upcoming album. 

They said: “With this project, we wanted to wholeheartedly applaud V for his ingenuity as the creator of “I Purple You” and for his hard work as the Visual Director of the album.”

As the celebration began, Twitter filled up with several postcards from fans highlighting V’s astounding artistry under #WeThankYouTaehyung along with various other heartfelt messages of pride, appreciation, and of course, heaps of love. As a result, the hashtag trended in multiple countries, most notably topping the worldwide trends.

Meanwhile, V UNION also made a generous donation to Nest, a non-profitable organization aiding artisans by offering various professional fellowships, providing materials, services, events, and communication tools among many other things. The fanbase noted V’s speech at the Wall Street Journal Magazine’s 10th Annual Innovators Awards as their inspiration and said: “In times as such, we wanted to aid artisans in fulfilling their dreams of making a living off of their craft.”

As the phrase “I Purple You” celebrates its fourth anniversary, it is admirable to see the sparks of V’s creativity light through different fractions of his career as he continues to shine brightly as a singer, dancer, songwriter, producer, actor, photographer and now a visual director.
