JTBC’s upcoming drama 'Love Me,' set to meet viewers on December 19, has released another teaser, raising anticipation for the first two premiering episodes. The video captures the show’s deep, lingering emotions, drawing attention with its poignant atmosphere.
The new Friday series 'Love Me' is based on the Swedish original series of the same name, created by Josephine Bornebusch. According to the drama’s synopsis, it tells the story of “a family that was once self-focused and slightly selfish, yet begins to grow as each member starts their own journey of love.” The cast includes Seo Hyun Jin, Yoo Jae Myung, Lee Si Woo, Yoon Se Ah, Jang Ryul, Dahyun, and Jang Hye Jin.
A week before its premiere, the main teaser was released, depicting the emotions of “love” that arise amid unexpected sorrow and unresolved wounds.
The teaser highlights the sharp dialogue of characters coping with their individual loneliness. Seo Jun Kyung (played by Seo Hyun Jin) reflects, “The very act of trying to be happy is what makes one unhappy.” Kim Mi Ran (played by Jang Hye Jin) tests her husband, Seo Jin Ho (Yoo Jae Myung), who cares for her daily without complaint, by asking, “Aren’t you tired of me?” Meanwhile, Seo Jun Seo (Lee Si Woo) vents, “Do you know how lonely you make people feel?” Yet, beneath these words lie entirely different emotions. Jun Kyung, who appears to have given up on happiness, actually suffers sleepless nights from loneliness. Mi Ran seems distant, yet relies on her husband to get through the day. Jun Seo, though lashing out with resentment, is a deeply emotional twenty-something clinging even to a love that brings loneliness.

The family’s complexity stems from an accident involving Mi Ran seven years ago, which disrupted their balance and left lasting scars. Jun Kyung learned to endure emotions alone, Mi Ran felt trapped in helplessness, Jin Ho became exhausted from caring for his wife daily, and Jun Seo wandered through unexplainable loss and loneliness.
Yet, the emotion of “love” begins to return to the family. Toward the end of the teaser, Jun Kyung’s narration—“No matter how bitter or painful life may be, it heals and thrills again”—signals a shift in the hearts that had been stagnant. For Jun Kyung, a mysterious neighbor, Joo Do Hyun (Jang Ryul), enters his lonely daily life; Jin Ho meets a warm travel guide, Jin Ja Young (Yoon Se Ah); and Jun Seo reconnects with a longtime friend, Ji Hye On (Dahyun), sparking unexpected feelings. The teaser raises curiosity about how the void left by past loss will be filled through love.

The production team explained, “Through the irony between what the characters say and the reality they face, this main teaser aims to more deeply portray the family’s emotions that had been frozen since the accident seven years ago.”
Following JTBC’s Friday series 'The Nice Guy' starring Lee Dong Wook and Lee Sung Kyung, and 'My Youth' starring Song Joong Ki and Chun Woo Hee, 'Love Me' promises to bring a new emotional tone to Friday nights.
'Love Me' will air its first two episodes consecutively on Friday, December 19, at 8:50 PM KST on JTBC.
