Harper’s Bazaar Korea unveiled three cover versions featuring actress Song Hye Kyo on December 16th KST.

Evoking the feeling of early spring, the covers draw attention with her bright, effortless aura and androgynous short haircut. Across the three released covers, Song Hye Kyo showcases flawless legs and her signature ageless beauty.

The pictorial’s concept is Flower from Concrete, capturing her blossoming presence against the backdrop of a modern white-toned villa. Dressed in vivid pink and blue looks, paired with a hooded zip-up adorned with floral embroidery, Song Hye Kyo perfectly embodies the concept, reminiscent of a single flower in full bloom.

In the interview following the shoot, Song Hye Kyo shared her affection for the character Minja, whom she portrays in the upcoming drama 'Slowly, Intensely', marking her reunion with writer Noh Hee Kyung after a long time. “Minja values success over love, and she will stop at nothing to achieve it. She lives with the mindset that everyone in the world is beneath her. Her journey from the very bottom to the top is truly turbulent. Watching her constantly struggle from a third-person perspective, I sometimes feel deeply sorry for her on a human level. When I think about Minja at home, I occasionally find myself in tears,” she said.

Regarding her transformation into a short haircut for the role, she explained, “I believe a character begins to take shape the moment you start thinking about what their style would be like. The writer mentioned that the Minja she imagined would have short hair and suggested the cut. She was worried about how short it would be for an actress, but for me, if it was a style that suited Minja, there was nothing to be afraid of.”

She also spoke about how keeping a gratitude journal with writer Noh Hee Kyung over the past five years helped her learn to love herself. “When I’m working on a project, I think about the role all day, but when I’m not, I try to empty my mind as much as possible. Instead, I stay busy making action-oriented plans—what time to walk my dog, when to clean a room, what I need to get done by next week. Of course, there are days when I feel low, because I’m human. But since I’ve found my own ways to lift my mood, those moments never last long. Writing a gratitude journal doesn’t mean life will only be filled with happy days. But now, I think I know how to love myself no matter what kind of day it is,” she shared.

Song Hye Kyo’s covers and pictorial can be found in Harper’s Bazaar Korea January 2026 issue.
