To mark the 10th anniversary of 'Reply 1988', an OST release will follow the upcoming variety program.
'The Reply 1988' soundtrack is widely regarded as the most beloved OST among the Reply series. In celebration of the drama’s 10th anniversary, the original tracks have been newly rearranged and re-recorded. Rather than featuring new singers, the project carries special meaning as the cast members themselves take part in the recordings to commemorate the milestone.
The release begins with 'Part 1', a solo track by actor Park Bo Gum, on December 19th KST. This will be followed on December 26th by 'Part 2', which includes two songs—one performed by the “Deulgae-deul” (Lee Il Hwa, Ra Mi Ran, Kim Sung Kyun) and another by the Ssangmun-dong kids (Ryu Hye Young, Hyeri, Go Kyung Pyo, Ryu Jun Yeol, Park Bo Gum, Ahn Jae Hong, Lee Dong Hwi, and Choi Sung Won).
Director Shin Won Ho, who has produced numerous hit OSTs through the Reply and 'Hospital Playlist' series, shared, “We prepared this OST in the hope that it will feel like a gift to the fans who have loved the drama over the past 10 years.”
OST producer Ma Joo Hee added, “This project allows listeners to experience emotions that only the actors, who built the narrative together as their characters, can express. Just as hearing the original OST instantly brings the drama to mind, the ‘Reply 1988 10th Anniversary’ OST is designed to revive the cherished memories we’ve kept deep in our hearts.”
As the Reply 1988 10th Anniversary variety program premieres on tvN on December 19th, OST Part 1 will be released on major music platforms at 6 p.m. on the same day.
