How My Magical Kpop Journey Saved Me

Here it is guys the truth untold .Kpop has impacted my life astonishingly over the past two years and has shaped me into the person I am today .Thanks to kpop i learnt so many new things ,such as the importance of self love ,hardwork and teamwork .Most importantly Kpop found me when my life was on the brink of collapse.

Being a high school student  I was going through the challenges of being bullied, isolated ,alienated  and faced academic pressure.I constantly compared myself to the high achievers and felt I was never fully satisfied with myself for achieving the grades I received. Although I achieved adequate grades, it really hurt me especially when my teachers looked down upon me and gave me disbelieving glares regarding my potential.

Moreover the girls in my class teased me and harassed me for no reason .I still to this day don’t know why they make fun of me .Is it because of my weight? Is my face not accepted as the norms of beauty ?Girls had also looked down upon me because of their arrogance and just because they perform better at tests. Is it a status barrier that separates us humans from receiving love and affection ? Having wealth gives them this power and authority to mistreat those beneath them .

Furthermore, I had no friends and felt alone in the world .I felt ignored when I saw my ex-best friend laughing  contently with her new  chosen best friends.I felt betrayed and stabbed with a dagger   ,I had grew up with her and we had been best friends for six years however she had left me and I was afraid of being rejected again . I then became more introverted and spent most of my lunchtimes eating lunch in the bathroom ,crying and burying myself in books in the library .

It was not until the summer holidays until I started watching Korean dramas that I became more intrigued in Korean culture in general .I then watched a video called “Fire”by BTS. It was this video that had changed my life.

I was immediately taken aback when I saw the members .I saw role models and their choreography had me in awe. It was just the missing link that I had needed. From then on I did more research and found myself laughing more often whilst watching hours of their videos. I felt as if my heart had been plastered .BTS inspired me and motivated me to love myself and achieve my dreams .Their advice instilled hope within me that anything is possible. I guess I never realised how lucky I am ,although I never met BTS in person, they acted as true friends  in disguise .

It's good you found something that inspire you. I know what is to be bullied by others and having no real friend. Real hard. At that time I found inspiration in comics books and movies, now I'm also into K-Pop. Sadly, not everything in the K-Pop industry is good, it also has it's bad side, but don't feel bad about it, just take the good things and follow their example to reach what you really want to be. Oh, and someday you will find some true friends, not many, but even 1 is more than enough. Until that happens don't be afraid to be alone, is better to be alone than with false friends. And you can learn to be happy, and enjoy being alone. For example, If you like K-Pop music, you keep listening to it and following your favorite groups even if other people don't like it, or if they make fun of you or say other kind of music is better. Just ignore them, If you like it, that's enough. Oh, and K-Pop is also full of haters and trolls (as you can see here in the comments), but you should also ignore them, don't get into arguments with them, they only want to attract attention so is better not to argue with them.

Honestly? Good for you. All of my friends straight up dropped me last year and, as of right now, K-Pop is one of the things that keeps me going (as sad as that sounds). I'm happy that you were able to find something that made you happy. I encourage you to branch off and look at some other groups though
