Yabuki Nako, Miyawaki Sakura, and Honda Hitomi talk about halting their AKB48 promotions for IZ*ONE

IZ*ONE
The AKB48 members shared thoughts on halting their Japanese group promotions for IZ*ONE

On October 29, the 'Produce 48' girl group held their debut showcase at Olympic Hall in Seoul.

Yabuki Nako, Miyawaki Sakura, and Honda Hitomi will be halting AKB48 promotions for 2 years and a half for the project girl group. Regarding this, Yabuki Nako said, "There are so many things that are different from Japan. There's a difference in the language and there are many unfamiliarities. The members are helping us out. My Korean has improved a lot and I'm enjoying it."

Next, Miyawaki Sakura said, "Japanese fans can be disappointed but fortunately, they're cheering us on. I'll show a good, hardworking side of me through IZ*ONE promotions."

Honda Hitomi said, "There might be some who are disappointed but I want to challenge myself and see how much I can improve during the limited time of 2 years and a half. I hope they can cheer me on."

I'm surprised by their dedication to this group especially Sakura who is very popular in a very successful group in Japan. I don't think I'll do the same in my position. More reasons to root for this their success.

Every member of IZ*ONE signed an exclusive for 1.5 years, then for the last year are free to promote under both their respective companies and IZ*ONE, so it's not really a choice that the girls had. Plus, the expansion that K-Pop took over the years, they'll be even more successful than when they were solely in AKB48, so I don't really see it as a bad thing.

Perhaps. Didn't know about the last year. If the group is successful, yes but if not...

they are dedicated to this project group, yet the company is misusing them. I hope the girls will receive a lot of love to make up for the company biasness.

Two years? Won't they have been automatically graduated from the group by the time they get back?

AKB48 has over 100 members, so it will indeed be noticeable that they are no longer in the group.

Sakura is like the 2nd most popular member, pretty sure they'll notice her absence...
