On October 24, Kim barged into Goo's room and poured boiling ramen on Goo's face. Kim continued attacking her roommate by swinging a weapon towards her face and legs, and threateningly saying, "I'll cut off your Achilles' tendons." The attack lasted about an hour until Goo escaped the apartment and received help from a neighbor.
It was revealed that Kim initiated the attack after finding out that Goo talked negatively about her on social media.
Goo is now suffering a severe burn on her face and legs. She will need to receive continuous treatment for about one to two years. In the worse case, Goo will need to receive a skin transplant.
Meanwhile, Goo revealed to have been a bride-to-be who was busily preparing for her impending wedding. To media outlet Asia Economy, Goo's boyfriend stated, "The attacker came to the hospital on the day of the incident and claimed she, too, is a victim. She even sent curse messages to my girlfriend the next day."
In the beginning, the police investigated the case as mutual assault after only hearing Kim's side of the story. However, they've now submitted an arrest warrant for Kim after receiving great criticism.
