After worrying fans a few weeks ago with a cryptic message on Instagram, Amber has followed this up with another worrying Instagram post.

Along with a photo of a tattooed arm, she wrote:

"We don't have time for you" Every year, I would stay at home for weeks because nothing was "coming in." Instead of waiting, for the past 5 years I've been writing my own songs, making my own albums, producing, directing, and/or editing my videos, making concepts and styling, writing proposals and presenting marketing plans, and even looking for my own jobs, all so that I could do what I love for my fans. Even after 5 years, I'm given the same answer. They still tell me I'm not good enough. What more do I have to do? load more comments

A lot of her fans are leaving encouraging messages after the worrying post.

When is the Taemin's next album release?

smokeee Monday, March 27, 2017

its so funny reading this thread with intelligent people explaining to the low IQ's that Amber's sales were complete crap.  that they gave her opportunity after opportunity in 2016 but she failed miserably.  that nobody wants her oh so 'talented' compositions but herself.  that they can't even bring up ONE good song a non Amber fan would think is good or show how talented she is at singing and rapping.  that Seohyun JUST got her first solo debut and has been in SM way longer than Amber.  DESPITE all of this the chinese stans keep blaming SM using examples of Kris, luhan, etc. breaking their contract under false pretenses to make more money in China.  now they even lie about Jessica being banned from shows because she hesitated on a question asking if she was going to do music shows lol.  i swear these crazy bitches are probably the same ones who follow EXO into bathrooms and get hotel rooms next to them to stalk.  I have never seen more dishonest people in my life who run with stuff they want to believe and ignore reality, even when its explained to them.  and u know if Amber, Henry, etc. were korean they wouldn't give a shit...

JessicaJungLove smokeee Wednesday, March 29, 2017

"I have never seen more dishonest people in my life who run with stuff they want to believe and ignore reality," well, that's you basically.

intricate smokeee Tuesday, April 4, 2017

if amber sucks so bad why does SM still employ her? The very fact that they're not providing her with work is breach of contract in itself. The very reason for the contract to exist no longer holds true. But when it comes to this SM usually uses the contract as an excuse to prevent their artists to become competition, just because SM basically lacks resources in terms of manpower and skill to do anything about their mothballed artists. SM has basically become too big for how the industry is regulated in Korean law.

dadarita Monday, March 27, 2017

If SM doesn't know what to do with Amber, I kinda feel like they should just let her go so that she can find another company that likes her style and helps her move forward.

j1msm dadarita Tuesday, March 28, 2017

she's the one who chose to stay... f(x)'s contract was renewed meaning she agreed to resign... if you think about it... would it be better for her to go to a different agency? what if it's worse? she's upset at SM for not giving her more solo music projects it sounds... in the variety show department she does pretty well.

melikecglr j1msm Tuesday, March 28, 2017

I think they gave her false hope so she resigned it. variety thing is not what she wants to do she wants to do music:(

dadarita melikecglr Tuesday, March 28, 2017

I think they gave her false hope too. Thinking they must have promise to give her more opportunities to get her to renewal her contract. Wonder when Amber's contract ends.

kruton Monday, March 27, 2017

DId Amber's songs do well when they released? I remember she had like 3 months where she released a lot of solo songs. When I saw that, I was thinking "wow, she is getting the artist independence she always wanted." Unfortunately, it seems like almost all her songs didn't do so well. Her rap isn't that good, which I'm sure we all know. She's a weird but awkward mix of kpop and rap, kind of like Bora from Sistar. I really feel like SM gave her a chance to shine, but people didn't buy it. Out of all her releases, I think the one I liked was "Breathe" where she collabed with that Japanese DJ. I like her in F(x), but she doesn't seem like she has the edge to be a solo artist (yet). However, SM is stupid for not letting her do anything for weeks at a time. She can be a real publicity booster for SM like when she was on Buzzfeed or Simon/Martina. Keeping her busy shouldn't be an issue at all.

Vixxisinfinite kruton Monday, March 27, 2017

the thing is she doing everything on her own she writing and producing her own stuff without sm help she needs sm professionals to help but sm refuses to even give her a team to work with those professional know the market better they have access to market research that analyze the market and know what people want it all mathematical that why most of what sm releases does well. She learning everything as she goes but she has neither money to even promote herself I doubt sm chip in a million for marketing for her too. Then you have all these other artist surprise surprise do well because they gave them a team and since debut been giving them activity and comebacks. The lack of attention sm given amber and the group has effected them negatively people forget you if your not constantly releasing music it harder to keep constant fanbase

smokeee kruton Monday, March 27, 2017

her style is also very cheesy.

smokeee Vixxisinfinite Monday, March 27, 2017

hey low IQ dummy, why does she need SM's help when u all pretend she creates such great musical compositions? i hope u dont ever run a company, let alone a lemonade stand, or u will lose everything in your piggy bank kid.

kruton Vixxisinfinite Monday, March 27, 2017

Mmm I don't know about that. Shake That Brass was heavily marketed, had a ton of money put into it, and even featured Taeyeon. I think that song is what made SM decide that they don't want to fully back Amber anymore since it was "meh."

Vixxisinfinite smokeee Monday, March 27, 2017

smokeee we all know you hate her because she Chinese technically she Taiwanese . By the way what do you know about business kid you don't know lot of crap. Why would I run a lemonade stand that would be even stupider since market not only saturated lemonade not a popular drink. thanks for the dislikes

smokeee Vixxisinfinite Monday, March 27, 2017

i swear akp has some of the lowest IQ people in the world, altho it probably has something to do with being jessica stans too. Taiwan = Republic of China dummy's. u know its sad when chinese people dont even realize theyre chinese lol.

smokeee Vixxisinfinite Monday, March 27, 2017

thats a good point about lemonade tho.

j1msm Vixxisinfinite Tuesday, March 28, 2017

I'm Chinese lol and i honestly don't feel too bad for Amber. I love F(X) as a group and sure i see where she's coming from but i'm also not being bias and thinking about one side. SM is a entertainment company... if you were the CEO of the company would you invest millions into one of your artist that wasn't charting/selling really well the second time around? SM has to make profit in return. It cost a lot more than you think to make a album, film a music video, hiring a team full of people... this isn't a kardashian hollywood video game this is a real business. SM did invest a lot into her solo debut... they pushed her marketing and promotions a lot and even had taeyeon feature in the title track (which is a big deal since she's known to always chart and sell really well) and amber's solo still didn't do so well. They even gave her space to put out music on her own youtube account and even put her on 2 sm station songs!! i hope amber does well in the future but don't blame the company without understanding why

MaiWaipeu kruton Saturday, April 1, 2017

From what I've seen, she really does not have the edge to be a solo artist, like you said. But ppl just love to blame it on other things like SM trying to fuck up their artists, Koreans only care about appearance, etc., etc., all these ridiculous things I've been hearing.

nadallyx89 Monday, March 27, 2017

Sm so good at media play.

Vixxisinfinite Monday, March 27, 2017

this smokee user just thumbing everyone down that supports amber or any Chinese artist lol

Vixxisinfinite Monday, March 27, 2017

lol she or he dislike this lol like if it not true now to wait for them to dislike this comment too Im waiting

smokeee Vixxisinfinite Monday, March 27, 2017

i dont downvote most people, even when they spend hours going back a month to downvote every post i make like uglyfairy. but every so often there is a extremely low IQ dummy stan like u who keeps trying to blame someone else for their biases issues, and has zero common sense. not to mention u all seem to have no problem blatantly lying about stuff which is the saddest part of it all. lying is a sin, i hope u know that.

kpophilippines Monday, March 27, 2017

I think she is not that popular or cant get lot of sales like Taeyeon's solo album (though Im not sure about this but its obvious of how popular snsd is). If Amber is salable like in her first solo album then maybe SM will create solo songs for her more. Maybe SM are not into how talented their artist but off course its about sales, which is also important to stay in the entertainment industry, just my opinion, correct me if I am wrong.

yutakunnn kpophilippines Monday, March 27, 2017

couldn't agree more. right we need to see from both sides. amber want to release something but she need SM but SM also need money to make something. if she release a song and that song didn't do well how can SM get money to make another release for her?

Vixxisinfinite kpophilippines Monday, March 27, 2017

it does not seem like sm is even trying if she doing everything on her own then it obviously sm not giving her access to the best team the reason taeyeon solo does well is because she was already establish yrs of being with sm her name is brand. unlike fx that just a experimental group. Taeyeon wants a solo sm will give her the best people because they think she can sale because she is snsd member, As a university marketing student i can tell you sm has not market well amber. There sm power vs a artist with no actual connection or money or even access to promote her self in the most proper way. Sm artist will only do well if they help put in the effort Taeyeon success is partly due to her fame in snsd while fx only release less then half of what snsd did and promoted a lot less. I think it unfair Taeyeon get a team of professionals to write her music. create her concept and promote vs Amber does everything with no professional or marketing team. It unfair to compare the two when the playing field not the same.

qwerty_Kpop Vixxisinfinite Monday, March 27, 2017

Agreed, but as you said, F(x) is not as saleable as SNSD and Amber is even not the most popular among her group mates, so there's very less probability for her to bring more sales as a solo artist... If SM hires their best team for Amber's solo comeback, it'll only add to the cost, which she won't be able to break even, so such a comeback is of no use to her since she's not gonna earn a penny... The best way for her as of now is to promote as an mc in a variety show just like SuJu members... SuJu is a very popular group and still only KyuHyun had a solo debut as of now... So you can imagine the long priority list that's already pending with SM....They can't re-invest on failures...

kpophilippines Vixxisinfinite Monday, March 27, 2017

I dont think its about best team. Amber have the talent, but looks as an admirable idol like beauty and charisma are not visible to Amber. I really think that SM really give their artist best of best and its visible to every MV of their artist. Its really about charisma to the audience that make a solo album pop.

beashineeshawol Monday, March 27, 2017

tl;drI feel for Amber. I really do. She's probably my favorite female artist at SM. I know she's frustrated with her current circumstances and that she wants to do more. I want to see her do more but I also understand SM's standpoint (since we're assuming that's who she's referring to, she could be making statements about the industry as a whole, but I'll stay with general consensus). Amber doesn't sell in Korea and that's due to a myriad of reasons. Some of which have to do with Korean culture but quite a few have to do with personal choices that Amber has made. I actually don't think her tomboy image prevents her from selling. Most of the people who like her (and f(x) in general) like her because she's different image-wise and musically. People loved her when she was on Real Men and she gained popularity at the time because she was connecting with the Korean people. Her solo music, on the other hand, doesn't do that. I liked Amber's album (Beautiful is probably one of my all time Kpop favs) but it was definitely musically more suitable for an international audience and she definitely struggled during some of the lives (for Beautiful) so we can't be surprised that it didn't sell in Korea. SM did try to push the track with a full slate of promotions and having Taeyeon on the title track (which wasn't all that great). Amber was the one who asked her on but I'm sure SM was all for it hoping that it would boost sales. It didn't. So SM pulled back on their investment hoping for better content. It appears they're still not getting anything that they deem marketable despite all of Amber's efforts. Her SM Station track was completely in English so once again we can't be surprised the Korean public didn't jump on it. Also, her tattoo sleeves (regardless of how you feel about them) aren't making her any more marketable as a Kpop artist. She's not in the KHip-Hip scene nor is she trying to be so they aren't helping her image as a Kpopper. Furthermore, lots of people are calling for her to leave SM but I don't think that's what she wants. If she really wanted that, she would have left last year when the girls' contract terms were up. However, it appears that all the girls re-signed and want to continue working together. I assume the hard part is that f(x) as a group isn't popular so the girls have been doing solo stuff in an effort to gain enough individual popularity to boost group activities. Amber wants to contribute but SM doesn't think her work is up to par and isn't willing the risk another flop for which we can't blame them. This is a business after all. She's stuck between a rock and a hard place but I hope she keeps her head up high and gets through this. I look forward to seeing how she grows and really hope she gets the opportunities she's longing for.

j1msm beashineeshawol Monday, March 27, 2017

i love you and your comment. so many kpop fans are narrow minded and only think of their fav artist and blame the company they're under. you looked at both sides and understood amber as a artist and sm as a business. i appreciate that because i thought i was the only one thinking this way!!

jay_t beashineeshawol Monday, March 27, 2017

I wish a lot of people have the same thought like you.

beashineeshawol j1msm Saturday, April 1, 2017

Thanks I try to be objective when it comes to these types of things because I know an artist isn't necessarily their image and company isn't always necessarily just being spiteful. I really hope f(x) pulls through because I actually think they make the best music out of all the girl groups at SM (minus most of their title tracks lol).

rain_bw Sunday, March 26, 2017

As I always have said. SM is crap. Once they don't need you, they just treat you like garbage. F**k SM.

kaice_cream rain_bw Friday, March 31, 2017

I agree, but sadly it's something almost all entertainment companies do.
