G-Friend and Gugudan to appear on 'Weekly Idol' this week

The upcoming 'Weekly Idol' episode with these two groups is bound to be crazy hectic and fun! G-Friend, which recently made a comeback with "Navillera," and Gugudan, which recently debuted with "Wonderland," are both going to be on the variety show - but it seems like they'll be on at different times.

On July 11, MBC Everyone's 'Weekly Idol' updated its official Twitter with pictures of the two groups visiting their 3rd underground level set. You can see G-Friend quenching their thirst in their pic and Gugudan dancing to "Pick Me" in the other. The episode is going to air this week on Wednesday!

So GFriend is at the level where their episode will be aired on the comeback week. I've been hearing news of Gugudan filming for Weekly Idol about 2 weeks ago, so I really hope the girls have at least 30 minutes.

kinda scared that both group will get too many cuts because they will be 2 group on 1 ep ... they could easily just put a full ep gugunndam and a full ep gfriend ,, and gugundam debuted a lot of week ago gfriend just now , is kinda unfair

Normally an episode of Weekly Idol is 1hr, so if they halve it, that means 30mins per group, for gugudan with 9 members its hard to introduce and do a profile review with all 9 members in 30mins.

yes i think Weekly Idol PD probably had many requests from so many new and veteran groups doing comebacks wanting to appear on the show, they had a 2 weeks BEAST special which causes so other artists to have to wait longer for their turn, and they are trying to pacify both Source Music and Jellyfish by having 2 groups on 1 episode so as not to turn away G-Friend whom are getting more and more popular and gugudan whose agency have VIXX may not allow VIXX on Weekly idol if they turn down gugudan appearance.

Still not into Gugudan but I think Weekly Idol will give a chance to the girls to show some of their talents. Maybe after this I fall for them! And...G-Friend? Bring it on, girls!

Previously Weekly Idol had two parts, the first was the hosts messing around and the second contained the guests (about 30 minutes each). The most recent first segment was Idols Are the Best, featuring Jackson, Dahyun, Jooheon and SinB, but they haven't done it for a few weeks now, instead having the full hour of the recording focused on the guests instead. This might be related to Hani leaving as a host. I assume with these guests the didn't think they'd get enough footage for a full hour, so had them both appear on the same show, just at different times.
