Ah, summer. It's a special season where different rules apply than the rest of the year. There are tons of options you can choose during the summer months such as doing internship, studying, travelling, or building a network. At the Korea University International Summer Campus, you can do all these things as you may have already heard of it from our previous article.

Korea University's International Summer Campus(KU ISC) is providing four or six weeks of education and cultural events, allowing students to fully immerse themselves into the Korean culture.

If you are still not sure what to do this summer vacation, here's a story from someone who has already experienced KU ISC!

Ivan Yim

1) What made you want to join 2015 KU ISC?

"I wanted to have one global experience before I graduated college, and I wanted to explore Korea. I chose Korea especially because it is one of the most dynamic countries. It was the biggest reason why I chose to go to Korea. Plus, the KUISC program gave me special care while I was in Korea."

2) What was your best memory in Korea? As an alumnus, any recommendations for students in 2016 KU ISC?

"My best memory was travelling to different cities across Korea. My recommendation is to not only focus on school but to also enjoy your time in Korea and travel to different places. In general, Korean people are very kind so it will be an amazing experience wherever you go in Korea."

3) What was your favorite class? Why?

"My favorite class was introduction to finance because the professor taught the class with relevant, real-world examples."

4) What kind of influence did KU ISC have on you?

"I learned through ISC the importance of not only creating new relationships but also maintaining these relationships."

5) Any comments for students that are making their plans for the summer?

Now an interview with a student who just joined 2016 KU ISC.

Rone Herbst

1) What made you want to join 2016 KU ISC?

"I've always yearned to study abroad while I am in college. Luckily, I came across an article about the Korea University International Summer Campus on the allkpop website and decided to join this program."

2) What would you like to do during your upcoming stay in Korea?

"The easiest answer for this would be the food. I'm a huge foodie and I LOVE Korean food, so I'm looking forward to this trip as a food adventure on steroids."

3) What classes are you going to take?

"World History(from 15^th Century to 1945), Mass Media and Popular Culture in Korea. Other than these two, there are over 100 interesting courses available." 

4) What do you expect to learn from these classes?

"I'd like to deepen my knowledge about Korean culture and language. This will also be a unique opportunity to be engaged with the diverse people in the classroom."

5) Any comments for your future colleagues?

"Let's be adventurous. I don't want to fall into a false sense of security such as 'I have 6 weeks to do all these things, I'll just do something next time.' The 6 weeks will pass by so swift, so let's try everything we want to do for this summer!"
