'Inside Men', the reboot series, is returning with a completely new version, with everything changing, from the director to the cast and production team.
According to production company Hive Media Corp, on October 16, actor Koo Kyo Hwan, actress Soo Ae, and director Mo Wan Il have officially stepped down from the 'Inside Men' series.
Initially, 'Inside Men' had confirmed production with Song Kang Ho, Koo Kyo Hwan, and Soo Ae in the cast, and Mo Wan Il (known for dramas such as 'The World of the Married' and 'The Frog') attached as the director.
However, production hit a roadblock when Song Kang Ho announced his departure in July. At the time, the production company explained that the project, which was originally structured as two separate seasons, was changed into a single 12-episode series. The revised shooting schedule made it difficult to coordinate Song Kang Ho’s availability.
Now, with Koo Kyo Hwan, Soo Ae, and Mo Wan Il also bowing out due to scheduling conflicts, all the initially announced key members have left the project.

The Inside Men team has already begun rebuilding from scratch. Lee Sung Min is reportedly being considered for the role of Lee Kang Hee, originally set to be played by Song Kang Ho, while Ju Ji Hoon is being strongly considered for Ahn Sang Goo, the role initially given to Koo Kyo Hwan. Discussions are ongoing regarding the new director and other vacancies.
The 'Inside Men' series is a remake of the 2015 film of the same name directed by Woo Min Ho. Based on a webtoon, the film offered a sharp critique of deep-rooted corruption and collusion in South Korean society through the eyes of insiders, attracting 7.07 million viewers and becoming the highest-grossing R-rated film in Korean cinema history.
The upcoming series adaptation will reimagine Inside Men with a dense narrative connecting major events and figures spanning the 1980s and 1990s.
