'Taxi Driver,' the SBS drama that set a remarkable box office record with 21% viewership, is returning for Season 3 after a two-year hiatus. On October 17, SBS unveiled the first stills of Lee Jae Hoon, who plays the protagonist Kim Do Ki.
'Taxi Driver 3,' scheduled to air on November 21, is based on a webtoon of the same title. It tells the story of Kim Do Ki, a driver for the secret Rainbow Taxi Company, who executes private retribution on behalf of people who have suffered injustice.
The drama has set new television records through previous seasons' remarkable popularity and achievements. It achieved a 21% viewership rating, the fifth-highest among terrestrial and cable dramas aired in Korea since 2023. Last year, it also clinched the Grand Prize in the Drama Series category at the 28th Asian Television Awards, Asia's most prestigious honors.

The newly released photos capture Lee Jae Hoon as Kim Do Ki as he returns to his taxi driver position. His sharp gaze, gripping the steering wheel of Taxi No. 5283 in the darkness of the night, is striking. His perfect battle attire, featuring his signature bomber jacket, sunglasses, and leather gloves, catches the eye. The cold expression he shows in scenes confronting villains sparks curiosity about the exciting action sequences he will perform this season.
The production team praised Lee Jae Hoon's flawless immersion into the character. "Lee Jae Hoon's 'Kim Do Ki' could be called the very identity of the Taxi Driver series," they explained. "From the first script reading, let alone the first filming, Lee Jae Hoon was already Kim Do Ki himself. We were impressed by Lee Jae Hoon's acting, which seamlessly bridged the two-year gap, as if Driver Kim Do Ki had been active all along, even when Taxi Driver wasn't airing."

The production team added, "Please look forward to the comeback of 'God Do Ki,' who will be more active than ever, from even more spectacular action sequences to the witty banter with the 'Rainbow Five' and even more diverse undercover roles."
Lee Jae Hoon also shared his thoughts on the production of Season 3. "I am so grateful and happy that we can do Season 3. I am proud of our cast members, who are like family," he said. "I think we can show an even more intense story than the previous seasons. I'm also working hard to prepare my more diverse undercover characters. I really want to show them to the viewers quickly. Please look forward to the activities of Kim Do Ki and the Rainbow Taxi team."
The script reading held previously on the 14th included Lee Jae Hoon, Kim Eui Sung, Pyo Ye Jin, Jang Hyuk Jin, and Bae Yoo Ram. These core members have been together since the start of the series and are said to have shown perfect synergy even after reuniting after two years.

The script reading was conducted with the actors viewing storyboards personally drawn by director Kang Bo Seung. This unique approach—actors reading lines while watching the storyboard screens—created a sense of realism akin to an actual filming set.
Writer Oh Sang Ho is in charge of the script, following the previous seasons, and Director Kang Bo Seung, who co-directed 'Dr. Romantic 3,' is taking the megaphone. Studio S, Group Eight, and BA Entertainment are producing the drama.
'Taxi Driver 3' will also be available for viewing on the OTT platform Viu in the Asia, Middle East, and Africa regions. It is scheduled to air on SBS on Friday and Saturday nights, premiering on November 21st at 9:50 PM.
