It has been revealed that Park Bo Young was the actress involved in last year’s W Korea red carpet incident, where an attendee was allegedly denied access to the photo wall for not wearing sponsored stockings.
On October 17, Dispatch reported exclusively that during W Korea’s annual breast cancer awareness campaign event, 'Love Your W,' held in October last year, an actress identified only as “A” was stopped from entering the red carpet because she was not wearing stockings.
According to a follow-up report by AtStyle, the actress was Park Bo Young. Park had planned to wear an outfit sponsored by brand V, which included stockings. However, due to sizing issues, she was unable to wear the provided pair. When Park arrived at the venue without stockings, W Korea staff reportedly told her that “full-body photos could not be taken without stockings,” restricting her from posing at the photo wall. As a result, W Korea’s official social media account only posted cropped upper-body photos of Park.
The incident resurfaced amid renewed controversy surrounding W Korea’s 'Love Your W 2025' campaign, held on October 15 this year. Videos and photos from the event showed top celebrities drinking champagne and partying, while Jay Park performed his song “MOMMAE,” which contains sexually suggestive lyrics about women’s bodies.
Criticism quickly spread, with many arguing that the campaign, originally intended to raise breast cancer awareness, has strayed from its purpose and turned into a celebrity-centered party. At the time of writing, W Korea has not released an official statement regarding the controversy.
