Singer and musical actress Ock Joo Hyun recently opened up about unexpected issues following a hair transplant.
On October 17, a video titled 'Ock Joo Hyun’s Item Life | Exploring Ock Joo Hyun’s Haircare Routine, Scalp & Hair Management Tips | Ep.01' was posted on Ock Joo Hyun’s YouTube channel.
In the video, Ock Joo Hyun shared, “Musical actors who wear wigs often face a common concern, hair loss. About nine years ago, I took hair follicles from the back of my head and transplanted them to the front.” She went on to reveal the complications that followed. “After the transplant, I noticed a problem. My baby hairs disappeared. It was shocking. Money alone cannot guarantee a perfect hair transplant. It is like planting trees. The hair at the back is like strong tree roots, while baby hairs are delicate. You need to plant each in a way that their roots do not interfere with each other. That is the only way to maintain healthy hair.”
Ock Joo Hyun explained that after the transplant, her side hairline looked unnaturally neat, almost as if trimmed by an eyebrow shaver. “It was stressful for years, but now my baby hairs have grown back,” she said, adding that she overcame the issues by washing her hair in the evening rather than in the morning, shampooing twice, and providing nutrients to her scalp.
Meanwhile, Ock Joo Hyun is currently performing in the musical 'Red Book.'
