5urprise's Lee Tae Hwan, who recently starred in MBC drama 'Pride and Prejudice' as a hunky detective, sat down for an interview with Xports News on January 20 and talked about the actor group he was a part of as well as fellow member Seo Kang Jun.
When he was asked if he had come to realize his rising popularity, the modest Lee Tae Hwan stated, "I do think that my popularity has gone up from before. There are still a lot of people who don't know me, but there are now people who've come to recognize me from 'Pride and Prejudice'."
He explained, "After wrapping up the last filming, I was eating udon in the lounge when the person next to me called me [by my character's name] Kang Soo. We even took a picture together. That was when I came to realize a bit [of my popularity]. I felt a responsibility and thought I had to work even harder."

The reporter also brought what Lee Tae Hwan said during a past press conference: "I want to show that there is more to 5urprise than just Seo Kang Jun." It appears he succeeded with his wonderful performance on 'Pride and Prejudice'.
Lee Tae Hwan responded, "I still need to work hard. This is a time when not only Seo Kang Jun and I but everybody else as well needs to be diligent. Seo Kang Jun started it, but I wish that all five members of 5urprise would do well together. I wish that I would likewise do well and be able to become a source of strength to Seo Kang Jun."
On rivalry between the two 5urprise members, Lee Tae Hwan replied, "Not at all. Our relationship does not require rivalry. We give advice to each other and have a friendly rivalry. If the members do not know something, we always ask one another. Even when I was filming 'Pride and Prejudice', I asked Seo Kang Jun a lot of things like methods to strengthen the body."
