Due to the unfortunate circumstances of the passenger ship sinking, the three major broadcasting companies, MBC, SBS, and KBS, will continue suspending all shows into the weekend.

MBC has confirmed that the weekend programs on April 19 and 20 will all be canceled. This includes 'Show!  Music Core,' 'We Got Married,' 'Infinity Challenge,' 'Quiz to Change The World,' 'Section TV Entertainment Relay,' 'Dad, Where Are You Going?' 'Real Men,' and more.  All of these shows will be replaced with news specials.

The weekend dramas 'Come! Jang Bo Ri' and 'Hotel King' have likewise been canceled.

It is nearly the same case for SBS, which postponed the first episodes for new weekend drama 'Good Day' and variety program 'Roommate' to April 26 and 27. Other programs like 'Angel Eyes,' 'Fish Bread,' 'Star King,' '1000 Song Challenge,' and 'Running Man' have likewise been canceled.

All of KBS's variety programs such as KBS 2TV's 'Full House,' 'Love and War,' 'Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbook,' and more will be replaced with documentaries. Meanwhile, KBS 1TV will continue reporting and broadcasting information relating to the passenger ship.

Most of CJ E&M's major channels will also halt their normal weekend programming.

@ambeh I didn't mean it to come off that way. I respect the tragedy. I couldn't do anything except think about that ship. I feel upset as well but since u misunderstood my post.. then so be it. I won't fight w/ u. Whatever u said is ur thoughts and feelings and opinion. What i said is mine and that's final. If that's how u thought my post came out as being a disrespectful one..I won't judge u.

I've been watching KBS News at 9 even though I can't understand a word. Last two nights have had stories about two British ships that sank, the Titanic and the HMS Birkenhead which gave its name to the "Birkenhead Drill," ; a.k.a. the concept of "women and children first." In 1852 the Birkenhead sank while hundreds of British soldiers and their officers stood on deck at attention in silent discipline as the women and children boarded the few lifeboats. They even freed the horses from below decks so they would at least have a chance to swim to shore. Even after the lifeboats with the women and children were away, and the ship began to go under, the soldiers did not rush to swim out to the lifeboats because they were afraid they would cause the boats to roll over and drown the women and children. So standing on deck at attention they died, but they died with unmatched honor and courage. I guess the contrast between the Birkenhead and the disgraceful and cowardly actions of the captain and crew of the Sewol has prompted some soul searching in Korea. ;

@stellastarangie Hi Stella! I'm actually here to figure out :) It would be great if you can read the whole comment, cause you will understand and conclude on what I meant with old fashioned. I'm just hoping that this world will be more open minded. To accept that everyone do have different perspective towards anything. And it is in fact wrong to backlash instead of exchanging opinions where people or myself can actually learn more. You know, there are people who only follow majorities. Maybe we do have a different perspective, and that is why through the first comment I wanted to know why do majorities have that kind of thoughts. Oh, and regarding to your last sentence, I never state that people who have different opinion as me or 'another world person' as someone who is cruel. Nope, never. Have a great day Stella :D

my friend in korea tells me there is some controversy on the evacuation and how it is being handled. It's seems the crew on board was not trained to handle such situations. ;That's probably why the people were told to stay in their cabins and not top-side. But changed their minds and by the time they told everyone it was too late. ;The coast guard (or whoever) appears to not know how to handle this. ;It's been over 3 days and progress is so slow. I know this might sound simple but before the ship was completely submerged couldn't they winch the ship so that it stays above sea level? ;Most of the time I see little boats circling the ship and divers popping in an out of holes. That would take forever? Even if they do find survivors in rooms how would they save them without water rushing in? It's quite frustrating to watch so I can only imagine how stressed the families must feel !!

I'm prayiing for all those in danger and for their families and friends. I don't know how I would deal with something this tragic. But, it is nice to see a whole country taking the time to help their fellow man/woman to deal with this. So what if we are missing dramas or shows that we all enjoy. Have some compassion for the people dealing with this. The world stopped on 9/11...I know, different causes for the tragedies but they are still a tragedy that is affecting a country.

I disagree with alot of the comments being thrown around on this post. I living in England only have what I hear on the news... which is limited as we hear world problems everyday in such a small space of time (most news here is 30 mins programme with a 30 mins local news). So it's all crammed up and you only find out so much. It's weird and upsetting, yet comforting to see the whole country in unison with their mourning. ;

And even though i love my drama's... I will happily wait. :)

I wish allkpop cover the whole story about the sunken ferry rather than bit and pieces of it so us know fans knows what's going on and understand all the cancelation. ;This way there won't be bickering in here. There are people who have yet heard the news and it is yet sank into their minds just how much of a tragic this is to people in south Korea. ;This is why those who have yet understand the situation just want news of when the show is going to be back on schedule. It's not because they are heartless, just not yet adapt to the circumstances. ;Please don't get upsets and starts cursing at them. Take the time to understand that people don't know everything you know. ;Explain and they will appreciate u for taking the time to explain rather than ;hates u for cursing at them.

littlebaddevil Saturday, April 19, 2014

Ok what I understand is the fact that everybody is praying for South Korea, which is a good thing. I undertand that they are calnceling tha shows, delaing the comebacks and so on. But how many days? Right now in Ukraine IT'S WAR, ;thousands of people are disapearing daily, there was an eatrhsquare in Mexico, another one in New Guineea. I don't want to be rude, I'm really sorry for all the peoples who are suffering all around the world, but honestly this shouldn'd be lasting that much. ;

jeffer720 Saturday, April 19, 2014

i don't be rude but IF someone of your family was in that ship you don't say that.

anakim Saturday, April 19, 2014

my family and friends are in Ukraine, they might die in the middle of another activist attack, yet I still somewhat agree with you..

littlebaddevil Saturday, April 19, 2014

@jeffer720 one of my grandmothers die in a car accident, I have relatives in Ukraine (I'm from Romania)... well...

ygfan20 Saturday, April 19, 2014

Because the ship accident happened in Korea and all the shows are from Korea. People in Ukraine are suffering but they don't care what happens to Korea and vice versa. It's time for mourning. If you are a international fan of course you won't understand it because you aren't Korean. You don't care about Korea, you only care about your oppa.

littlebaddevil Saturday, April 19, 2014

@ygfan20 I don't only care about my oppa dear, I care about Korea, and I care about the world. The delaing of the comebaks, and the cancelation of the shows. What I was saying is that Korea is suffering, Ukraine is sufferinf, other countries are suffering right now and so on. People around the world should care about all of them. And btw dear, oppa? I never use that word and I never will...

ygwinner Sunday, April 20, 2014

I guess there's no real time frame to answer that. It's whenever they feel they can move on with daily activities. I remember when 911 happened all hollywood war movies were postponed to debut that year. Certain scenes from shows and movies that had anything to do with a plane crashing or the world trade center was taking out. Think it lasted for almost a year. Then following year I remember all these war movies coming out all at once. It might be the same for this. Until there is some type of closure. The only thing is. It's probably little easier and quicker to remove debris from a building on land than it is under water.

asdfghjkl192 Sunday, April 20, 2014

@littlebaddevil There are many people that care about Ukraine and the other countries, and all the unfortunate events happening there are all over the news and the internet. But allkpop is a site dedicated to providing news ABOUT Korea and things that affect kpop. Since the ferry incident directly affects Korea and its residents, of course it has a heavy toll on the comebacks and shows.

janepee Sunday, April 20, 2014

Too bad, where are my shows?! I would love for you to come say that in public in Korea so I could watch you get beaten to death. Were you raised by dogs? Because you turned out a bitch. Please have nothing to do with Korea.

minerva3 Sunday, April 20, 2014

Ppl who ever read news will know whatever u are saying but u are at the wrong place dear to voice the comment. Unless I'm in the wrong website, this is a website for kpop which is Korean pop and ship incident is in korea, see the connection?

mihn Monday, April 21, 2014

You have to remember that a lot of it has to do w/ culture as well. Mourning for one death is bad enough but to have almost 300 high schoolers die at once in a country that's not used to such loss will obviously have the whole country at a loss for words. Joke about it if you want, but Korean culture looks at mourning as an important part of death, to the point where it's quite disrespectful to not mourn. And, in my opinion, the mourning (not sure about the canceled shows) will probably go on till most bodies are found and accounted for. Again. It's all culture and society.

I condolences, highly, but I hope everything will be alright again next week..
