Singer and TV personality Lee Sang Min, 51, surprised the public by announcing that he has gotten married. It has now been confirmed that he has already completed his marriage registration.
According to Munhwa Ilbo, Lee officially registered his marriage with his wife at a district office in Seoul on April 30, becoming a legally married couple.
A source close to Lee shared that after completing the registration, Lee participated in the filming of an SBS variety show on the same day. He reportedly shared the news with his colleagues on set and received warm congratulations.
Earlier reports suggested that Lee would hold a wedding ceremony in early summer, but this has turned out to be untrue. The couple had already agreed not to have a formal wedding ceremony.
Another acquaintance explained that Lee has lived frugally for over 15 years while repaying significant debt and working diligently. He is said to feel deep gratitude toward the public for supporting him during that difficult time. To avoid drawing unnecessary attention, he chose to skip a traditional wedding and instead held a small private celebration with close friends after registering the marriage.
Lee's wife is a younger non-celebrity with no ties to the entertainment industry. She reportedly agreed with his decision and appreciated his efforts to protect her and their families from excessive public and media exposure.
Lee first shared the news with the cast and crew of the SBS shows 'Dolsing Fourmen' and 'My Little Old Boy,' where he has been a regular for years. His marriage story will be featured in the May 11 episode of 'My Little Old Boy.'
Lee Sang Min debuted in 1994 as a member of the group Roo'ra and later gained recognition as a producer. He is currently focused on his work as a host and television presenter.
