(G)I-DLE has returned to their original name I-dle as they gear up for their May comeback.
On May 2 KST, the girl group unveiled a striking teaser clip, bringing another unconventional concept for a girl group. With the new teaser, fans have noticed that (G)I-DLE has rebranded their social media accounts to display the name i-dle, reflecting their original Korean name.

Back in 2018, Cube Entertainment announced the debut of its new girl group, "Idle." However, the girls debuted under the name "(여자) 아이들 (Yeoja) Idle " or "(Girl) Idle" in Korean and were often referred to by just "Idle." Hence, the latest rebrand seems to re-align with the group's original name.
Meanwhile, their May comeback will be (G)I-DLE’s first full-group activity since renewing their contracts with Cube Entertainment. Following the contract renewal at the end of last year, the members had been focusing on solo projects. In January, Minnie released her first solo album 'HER,' and in March, Yuqi unveiled her digital single 'Radio (Dum-Dum).'
Now, I-DLE will be back with a special mini-album dropping on May 2 at 6 PM KST and an 8th mini-album releasing on May 19 at 6 PM KST.
