Psy to donate $447,000 USD from "Gentleman" profits to charity

Psy will be donating 500,000,000 KRW (approximately $447,000 USD) of his profits from "Gentleman" to charity.

Since "Gentleman" has only been out for a short time, he has yet to calculate the profit and sales figures. However, Psy has gone ahead and decided to donate 500 million KRW of the profits from his 'HAPPENING' concert as well as adding in his own money.

The reason why he chose to donate such a big amount is because he wanted to give back to the fans who'd shown him unending support. He said, "The love that's big as the sky that I get from my fans is very heavy. Of course I'm going to keep giving back with good music, but I also want to lead in donating continuously and work hard for those who are neglected in the world."

His donations will be used to help children with cancer. He'd been thinking hard about where to donate his money, and made his decision after he saw the various donations that other celebrities made, including the one Yang Hyun Suk made himself.

Looks like Psy really is a gentleman.
