That's right, Girls Generation has been first on Mnet charts for EIGHT weeks straight! Although Kara's Honey might be surpassing them in the download region, they're still no competition for Girls' Generation on the actual charts. A team official has stated that "Throughout 2009, we've had artists such as Girls Generation, Kara, SS501, Someday, and After School. Among these, Girls Generation and Kara are really leading the way for girl groups. " The girls have been getting first place on Mnet since January. Although we don't know how much longer the Gee fad will last, the song has already grabbed the spot of best song of the year (for now anyway.) Even so, I'm thinking that these girls will probably be getting first for a while longer, seeing as how all those parodies haven't stopped yet. Anyone want to bet how long they're gonna keep sitting in the top spot?
