Rumors say YG Entertainment is presenting not just one, but two girl groups this year.

On June 28, YG unveiled the long-awaited group Black Pink consisting of 4 members - Jennie Kim, Rose, Lisa, and Jisoo. Fans are thrilled to finally see YG's new girl group, however, some portrayed disappointment at the small amount of members as many expected a total of 7 to 9 members.

According to OSEN, the label is planning to present Black Pink's sister group in the same year! It was reported, "Originally, the group had 9 members, but Yang Hyung Suk changed the number to 4. His exact thoughts are unknown, but there are 5 more trainees left. It seems like Black Pink are setting the start to YG's new girl groups."

It's also assumed that YG is preparing a format similar to iKON and WINNER with their new girl groups. Do you think we might be greeted with 2 YG girl groups this year?

I don't want another girl group! Black pink is enough. Also by the end of 2016, i want Winner exit : X 2ne1 new album! CL american album!Get that done first before adding new groups! Yg papa can't do this to us inner circle. When will i get to see 2ne1 again?!?!?

papa yg can't get shit done tbh. "exit is a year long project" one day from now it is july, only exit:e is out and they are going on another japan tour with only 5 more tracks than their last japan tour. I'm happy for them, but it's ridiculously clear how yg is just milking them for money and getting them out of the way so that he can do girl groups. the truth is, I'm really happy about black pink, everything about the group sounds like what I have always wanted in a girl group but I totally agree that he can't even manage his existing 4 groups let alone two more. he'll just toss them in the trash anyway if they don't work out that well. on the other hand though I don't think 2ne1 is coming back. when minzy left he was going on about a "summer comeback" but where is that? cl is in america, bom is nowhere, dara is doing her thing and minzy LEFT and now there will be another girl group. so, I'm sad about this, but we probably won't be able to see 2ne1 again.

yeah because being separate is working out for so great for WINNER and IKON when they can barely lay a dent on EXO nevertheless even touch freakin BTS album sales  or be acknowledged as BIGBANG's successor by the public. Yep no doubt this wont end in another mess where you have some of the most talented singers/rappers u can find forced into separate groups no doubt

babe ikon debuted last september with flying colors and sales much better than bts's debut and honestly, no worth comparing to exo we all now what exo is like. same with winner's debut only winner has been horribly managed with a one year hiatus right after debut, so yeah, you can write down winner but not ikon, not just yet. with the favoritism yg is showing for ikon they might just become the next big ass group. they are young yet, and the main problem is that people EXPECT them to be the next bigbang. stop that. I don't approve of the two girl groups at the same time and the mishandling of both winner and ikon but I mean check your facts first. nobody here mentioned bts or exo because both group are basically veterans at this point with virtually the biggest korean fandoms and arguably western fandom as well. u do realize that u just compared a group that although has been around for some time only debuted like 9 month ago to two of the biggest groups out there. good job
