Seventeen and their agency, Pledis Entertainment, are taking firm legal action against malicious online commenters, including pursuing overseas users through international courts.
On June 17(KST), Pledis released an official statement via Seventeen’s social media channels, updating fans on the ongoing legal procedures regarding defamatory posts, false information, and personal attacks targeting the group.
According to the statement, several individuals have already been identified and reported to the prosecution, with some cases awaiting final judgment. The agency has cooperated closely with investigations and is actively presenting evidence of harm in ongoing cases.
Pledis revealed that they have been monitoring platforms such as social media, online communities, and music sites, and have submitted collected evidence to law enforcement authorities.
International legal efforts are also underway. The agency has filed requests with overseas courts to disclose the identities of anonymous users on platforms like X, based on tips provided by fans.
“There will be no leniency or settlement,” Pledis stated firmly. “We will continue to monitor malicious posts regularly and pursue all possible legal avenues to ensure accountability.”
The agency concluded by expressing gratitude to fans for their support, promising to protect Seventeen and the values shared with their fandom.
