
'Our Unwritten Seoul,' which debuted with modest viewership ratings in the 3% range, has overtaken major productions across multiple genres to claim the No. 1 spot in overall content rankings.
The series began with nationwide ratings in the 3% range in episode 1 and steadily rose to over 7% by episode 8. It ultimately topped the weekly content rankings, surpassing tough competitors.
According to KinoLights, an OTT content search platform, 'Our Unwritten Seoul' ranked first in the integrated content chart for the 3rd week of June (June 9–15). Notably, it beat out the 19+ rated blockbuster 'Mercy for None,' which has held Netflix’s No. 1 spot for 10 consecutive days since its release on June 6, adding further significance to 'Our Unwritten Seoul’s achievement.

In 'Our Unwritten Seoul,' Park Bo Young plays identical twin sisters Yoo Mi Ji and Yoo Mi Rae, two women who share the same face but have completely different personalities and life experiences. As they end up switching lives, they each begin a journey of romance and self-discovery. Park Bo Young’s performance in the demanding dual role has received high praise from viewers and industry insiders alike.
Episode 8, which aired on June 15, achieved its highest ratings yet, with an average of 8.3% and a peak of 9.2% in the Seoul metropolitan area. Nationwide, it scored a 7.4% average and an 8.2% peak, securing the No. 1 spot in its time slot across cable and general programming channels. In the 20-49 age demographic, it reached an average of 3.2% in the Seoul area and 3.4% nationwide, ranking first across all channels, including public broadcasters.

The latest episode intensified the drama with the appearance of Park Sang Young (played by Nam Yoon Ho), who looks identical to the twins’ deceased father. The emotional turmoil the sisters face upon meeting a man with their late father’s face delivered powerful immersion for viewers.
In second place on the rankings was the live-action adaptation of DreamWorks’ hit animation 'How to Train Your Dragon.' Originally released in 2010 and drawing 2.59 million viewers in Korea, the live-action version proved its continued popularity by topping the weekend box office in its second week.

Third place went to Netflix original series 'Mercy for None,' marking So Ji Sub’s debut in the OTT space. The noir action series follows a man who returns to his organization 11 years after his brother’s death to seek revenge. With a strong ensemble cast including, Huh Joon Ho, Gong Myung, Choo Young Woo, Cha Seung Won, and Lee Jun Hyuk, and a gripping story based on a webtoon, the series has garnered global attention. It entered the TOP 10 in 44 countries and ranked second among Netflix’s global non-English TV series.
At No. 4 was the action-comedy film 'Hi-Five,' which tells the story of five individuals who gain superpowers after organ transplants. Featuring Lee Jae In, Ahn Jae Hong, Yoo Ah In, Ra Mi Ran, Park Jin Young, and Kim Hee Won, the film’s quirky characters and comedic tone helped it surpass 1.5 million viewers last weekend, topping the Korean box office.
JTBC’s weekend drama 'Good Boy' came in fifth. Starring Park Bo Gum as a former medalist turned police officer, the comic action series follows elite athletes recruited into the police force as they battle corruption. Park Bo Gum’s drastic image shift has generated buzz, earning him the top spot in actor popularity rankings. Episode 6, which aired on June 15, reached 6.2% nationwide and 5.9% in the Seoul area, marking its second consecutive week of hitting new viewership highs.
As Unknown Seoul approaches the end of the twins' life-swap agreement, secrets are beginning to unravel, heightening the suspense. Recent episodes revealed that Lee Ho Soo (played by Lee Sang Yeob) and Yeom Boon Hong (played by Kim Sun Young) are not actually biological mother and son, adding another layer of intrigue that has viewers hooked.
