6 Hidden Travel Spots You Must Visit in Seoul

AKP STAFF

Venture beyond the classic tourist destinations like Namsan Tower, Han River, and Myeong-dong. Immerse yourself in Seoul's hidden gems that promise to enrich your journey with a dash of adventure! Discover these six offbeat locations that guarantee an extraordinary Korean experience, steering clear from the conventional path.

1. Mountain Ansan Jarak-gil Trail: An elevated wooden deck that surrounds Ansan Mountain. If you're looking for a getaway and love being surrounded by nature, then this is the place for you. What's even better is that this forest trail is wheelchair accessible too.

2. Sky Bridge Tower at Lotte World Tower: Opened back in 2020, you might know this place as the bridge where BTS Suga and RM got a bird's eye view of Seoul. Just be aware this travel destination is not for those afraid of heights.

3. Cheong Wa Dae: When visiting Seoul, many think about visiting the iconic spots such as Namsam Tower, 63 Building, and Seoul Forest, but while in the city, you might as well visit Cheong Wa Dae, also known as the Blue House which housed South Korea's presidents since 1948. The Blue House opened up for the public to visit in May of 2022.

4. Seoullo 7017: If you find yourself shopping at Lotte Mart or you're near Seoul Station, make sure you take a walk along the sky garden walkway; there are many different plants, trees, and flowers, bring a great breath of fresh air in a bustling city.

5. Sungshin Women's University Shopping District: A few stops away from Dongdaemun, this shopping district is known for its traditional Donam Jeil market, which offers some of the most popular local eats.

6. Seoul City Wall: Crossing the Bugaksan Mountain, this is a unique travel spot because when you actually hike along the Seoul City Wall, you're actually crossing a once military-controlled zone, proof? The 15 bullet-holed pine tree!

Seoul is bustling with so many hidden gems; it's just a matter of getting out there and exploring some more. Make sure you don't miss out on adding these spots to your itinerary.

Sky bridge is not really a hidden gem, it's just a bit expensive, and a lot of people prefer to skip paying $80 for that bird view 🤗

The one place you have to visit is the Han River and the convenience store next to it.

Where all the KPOP girl groups go to have their picnics.

Who knows, if you go you just may a girl group there too!
