Singer and actress IU recalled her first impression of her 'Perfect Crown' co-star Byeon Woo Seok.
On March 5, a video titled '[Perfect Crown] IU x Byeon Woo Seok, the Royal Couple's Informal Interview' was uploaded to MBC Drama's official YouTube channel.
In the video, Byeon Woo Seok asked IU, "When we first met for 'Perfect Crown,' what was your first impression of me?"
IU responded, "When we first met, you hadn’t even been to the salon," adding that they had their first casual meeting at the actor's office.
She described, "At the time, he walked in wearing a hat, and even in that unstyled look, I thought, 'Wow, it’s Byeon Woo Seok. How can someone look this good?' His aura was amazing."
Regarding her similarity to the drama's fictional character 'Seong Hee Joo,' IU said with a laugh, "That question is a bit difficult to answer. In the beginning, her personality is really not that good."
Byeon Woo Seok explained, "As someone who also filmed the drama, I understood why the character Hee Joo developed that kind of personality."
IU added, "To be honest, while filming 'Perfect Crown,' parts of my own personality started to become like Hee Joo's. Eventually, the synchronization went up to about 90%. But now that we've wrapped up filming recently, it has gone back down to around 70 to 80%," laughing.
During the interview, Byeon Woo Seok also mentioned that when he first heard IU would be playing his female lead, his reaction was: "It was like a 'Eureka' moment. I was so happy and believed that this project would go even more smoothly."
Meanwhile, MBC’s upcoming Friday-Saturday drama 'Perfect Crown' is set to premiere on April 10.
