Super Junior's Eunhyuk has just made a special birthday donation.
On April 3, Eunhyuk celebrated his 40th birthday by donating a total of 200 million KRW (about 133,000 USD) to two different charities. Eunhyuk made his first donation to Samsung Medical Center - contributing 100 million won (about 66,000 USD) to support lung disease research. His donation will be used to help develop treatment methods for severe lung diseases.
Regarding his donation to lung disease research, Eunhyuk stated, "I decided to make a donation in hopes of offering even a small amount of help to patients suffering from severe lung disease. I hope that treatment and new medicine can be soon developed so that many people can recover their health and enjoy comfortable daily lives.”
Then, Eunhyuk donated an additional 100 million KRW to ChildFund Korea, to contribute to child welfare programs. His donation will contribute to the construction of playgrounds and libraries for children with disabilities. Eunhyuk explained his reason for donating to ChildFund Korea: "I hope children can run freely without physical or environmental constraints, read books and develop a positive outlook on the world."
Meanwhile, Eunhyuk continues to make charitable contributions each year. Previously, the Super Junior member has donated to support wildfire relief and child abuse prevention. He also participated in a special donation campaign with fans to commemorate Super Junior's 20th anniversary.
