
Actor Kim Nam Gil has been confirmed to star in SBS’s upcoming drama 'Nightmare.'
Scheduled to air in the second half of the year, 'Nightmare' is an SF hero-genre drama set in a world where artificial intelligence infiltrates human dreams to design nightmares for criminals. The story will deliver a tense narrative centered on technology capable of manipulating the human subconscious through dreams and the crimes that arise around it.
Kim Nam Gil will play Kim Tae Yi, a detective in Team 1 of the Violent Crimes Unit at Nambu Police Station. While pursuing a series of crimes, Kim Tae Yi becomes entangled in a case involving AI technology that designs dreams and eventually faces a massive conspiracy. With sharp judgment and relentless investigative skills, the detective works at the center of the case to uncover the truth.
In particular, as he digs into incidents connected to a new system that punishes criminals through nightmares, he confronts a world where human fear and desire intertwine. Through the character of Kim Tae Yi, Kim Nam Gil is expected to portray both the determination of a detective tracking a case and the character’s complex inner world.
The production team plans to begin preparations for filming after completing the main casting lineup.
