Even before its premiere, ENA’s upcoming drama is already igniting a frenzy of reactions thanks to its bold, high-intensity premise and powerhouse casting.
With acclaimed actors Park Hae Soo, Lee Hee Joon, and Kwak Sun Young leading the lineup, anticipation continues to grow online. The trio’s gripping pursuit of a tangled truth is already being hailed as one of the year's most highly anticipated dramas.
On April 2, the production team of ENA’s new Monday-Tuesday drama 'The Scarecrow' unveiled its main trailer, offering a first look at three characters as they chase the truth behind a brutal serial murder case. The series is a crime investigation thriller that follows a detective who, while tracking down a serial killer, is forced into an unexpected alliance with someone he deeply despises.
The trailer opens with Detective Kang Tae Joo facing a man in a prison uniform, accompanied by a heavy voiceover. Referring to the man as “my killer,” Kang reveals a mix of deep-seated rage and obsession toward the person he has pursued for years.

The story then shifts between present-day 2019 and 1988, the origin point of the case, revisiting a horrific crime that once shook his hometown of Gangseong three decades ago.
As the narrative unfolds, Kang Tae Joo is confronted with a new twist when Cha Si Young - someone tied to his troubled past - is assigned as the prosecutor on the case. Despite sharing the same goal of catching the killer, the two clash constantly due to their differing roles and beliefs. Cha Si Young maintains strict professional boundaries, while Kang Tae Joo reacts emotionally, even grabbing him by the collar - hinting at a relationship far more complex than simple cooperation.

After the ongoing conflict, Kang Tae Joo ultimately extends a hand, saying, “Let’s catch him together,” signaling the start of a tense collaboration. The investigation takes another turn as journalist Seo Ji Won joins in, adding a new dimension to the pursuit of truth.
In the final moments, a mysterious scarecrow silhouette appears, accompanied by Kang Tae Joo’s chilling vow to pursue the truth to the very end, heightening the suspense.

Directed by Park Joon Woo ('Taxi Driver,' 'Crash') and written by Lee Ji Hyun, 'The Scarecrow' is already drawing attention for its strong creative team and the powerful synergy among its cast.
As soon as the trailer dropped, online communities and social media lit up with excitement. Viewers praised the immersive intensity, leaving comments such as, “Finally, a real genre drama!!” “This is the real deal…” “I’m so excited for this,” and “Can’t wait.”
'The Scarecrow' is set to premiere on April 20 at 10 PM on ENA, and will also be available via Genie TV and TVING.
