Singer Lee Soo Young has belatedly been reported to have been involved in a car accident.
On the February 12 broadcast of CBS Music FM’s Lee Soo Young's 'Let's Meet at 12,' announcer Ha Hyo Jin stepped in as a substitute DJ in place of Lee Soo Young.
Ha Hyo Jin explained, “Lee Soo Young was involved in a car accident, so I will be hosting the show in her place through this weekend.” She reassured listeners, adding, “Fortunately, her life is not in danger, and she has safely returned home.”
This is not the first time Lee Soo Young has been in a traffic accident. In July 2010, she was involved in a minor collision while traveling to a radio broadcast. At the time, she shared, “We were on the way in my manager’s car when the vehicle behind us rear-ended us. It was more frightening than I expected.” Despite the incident, she reportedly completed her scheduled broadcast of Lee Soo Young's Music Show on KBS Cool FM before visiting the hospital.
Since 2017, Lee Soo Young has been hosting CBS Music FM’s 'Let's Meet at 12,' communicating closely with listeners. Known for her calm hosting style and empathetic approach, she has consistently ranked among the top in listener ratings for her time slot.
Debuting in November 1999, Lee Soo Young is widely credited with popularizing the “oriental ballad” genre in the 2000s. She solidified her status as a leading female ballad singer by winning the grand prize at major music award ceremonies three times during her peak.
Up until 2022, she released a total of 10 full-length studio albums, maintaining a long and steady career in the music industry. Her signature hits include “I Believe,” “Goodbye as If Brushing Past,” “And I Love You,” “Rather,” “La La La,” “Alone,” “Hwilili,” “Grace,” and “Short Hair.”
Lee Soo Young married a non-celebrity man 10 years her senior in 2010, and the couple has one son.
