Netflix’s 'The Art of Sarah' made a strong global debut, ranking No. 3 on the Global Top 10 Non English Shows chart shortly after its release.
The series premiered on February 13 and, within just three days, climbed to No. 3 worldwide. It recorded 3.8 million views, calculated by dividing total viewing hours by the show’s overall runtime. The drama topped the charts in South Korea, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia. It also entered the Top 10 in 38 countries, including Bahrain, Peru, Colombia, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and Kenya, highlighting its broad international appeal.

'The Art of Sarah' follows Sarah Kim, played by Shin Hye Sun, a woman who longs to become a luxury icon even if it means living a lie, and Mu Gyeong, portrayed by Lee Jun Hyuk, the man who tracks her desires. The story centers around the high end luxury brand Boudoir, which targets the top 0.1 percent. From a grand pine tree placed at the center of the boutique to the sleek display space showcasing dazzling Boudoir bags, the production design captures an atmosphere of wealth and sophistication.
The Boudoir bag, in particular, plays a pivotal role in the narrative. Director Kim Jin Min explained, “We selected a design that vividly reflects wealth, beauty, and even vanity at a single glance.” Costume director Jo Sang Kyung, known for her work on ‘Squid Game’ and the films ‘No Other Choice’ and ‘The Hunt,’ led the styling for Sarah Kim. The costumes were crafted to distinctly portray the different facets of a single character’s life.

Shin Hye Sun stands out by embodying multiple identities throughout the series. She shared, “Mok Ga Hui was styled to appear tacky, Kim Eun Jae pure and elegant, and Sarah Kim glamorous.” Praised for its solid screenplay and unpredictable twists, the drama continues to generate positive reviews. Shin Hye Sun meticulously brings to life Sarah Kim, Mok Ga Hui, and Kim Eun Jae, fully immersing herself in each shifting identity.
As the series progresses toward its latter half, her performance further strengthens the drama’s emotional impact and narrative credibility. On February 18, the production team released new stills, offering a closer look at the show’s intricate details and visual storytelling.
