Actress Moon Ga Young has once again spread positive influence through meaningful philanthropy.

On February 5, international relief organization COINTREE, led by CEO Han Young Joon, announced, “Through Moon Ga Young’s continued support, projects focused on building self-reliance for women and providing medical assistance for children in the slum areas of Tulum, Mexico, have achieved visible results.”

Following her 100 million KRW (about 75,000 USD) donation to Ewha Medical Center last year, Moon Ga Young also contributed 50 million KRW (about 38,000 USD) in proceeds from her essay collection PATA. She communicated directly with the organization to carefully discuss how the funds would be used.

As a result, the donation went beyond educational aid and was strategically invested in establishing sustainable self-reliance models that help local women secure stable employment. This initiative has led to tangible changes, supporting the economic independence of women, including single mothers, and helping prevent family breakdown.

She also contributed to the construction of school restrooms in hygiene-vulnerable areas and the development of an emergency medical treatment system for children, helping create a foundation that protects them from preventable diseases.

Moon Ga Young’s actions further inspired voluntary participation from overseas fans. After learning of the donation, global supporters joined on their own, contributing to a growing culture of cross-border giving.

CEO Han Young Joon of COINTREE stated,Moon Ga Young understands the value of donations better than anyone. She is a leader-type donor who carefully considers both how contributions are used and the outcomes they create. Her support has built a system that changes a woman’s life and saves children.”

Meanwhile, Moon Ga Young added another representative work to her filmography with the movie 'Once We Were Us,' directed by Kim Do Young, which was released on December 31 and has drawn a cumulative audience of 2.4 million. Her essay collection PATA has also reached its 10th printing and continues to receive steady public attention as she remains active in various fields.
