Several highly anticipated Korean films are gearing up for release, dominating the top ranks of advance ticket sales.
According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated box office tracking system, 'The King's Warden' (directed by Jang Hang Jun) has claimed the No. 1 spot in reservation rates. As of February 3, the film recorded 125,420 advance ticket sales.
The film centers on King Danjong, the sixth monarch of the Joseon Dynasty, portraying the story of the young deposed king who is exiled after losing his throne, and the village chief and townspeople who care for him.
Anticipation has surged following preview screenings. Audiences have praised the performances of Yoo Hae Jin, Park Ji Hoon, Yoo Ji Tae, and Jeon Mi Do, with particular acclaim for Park Ji Hoon’s expressive gaze and in-depth performance.

Director Ryoo Seung Wan’s upcoming film 'Humint' is also set to hit theaters during the Lunar New Year holiday on February 11. As of the same date, it has drawn 99,816 advance reservations, securing second place behind 'The King's Warden.'
The film promises stylish action and the tense suspense characteristic of espionage thrillers. It marks the final installment of Ryoo’s overseas location trilogy, following 'The Berlin File' (2013) and 'Escape from Mogadishu' (2021). The film stars Jo In Sung, Park Jung Min, Park Hae Joon, and Shin Se Kyung.
Meanwhile, 'Number One' (directed by Kim Tae Yong) ranked third in pre-sales with 40,320 tickets sold. The film delivers emotional warmth through a story built around comforting home-cooked meals and the unique premise of being able to see how much time someone has left to live. 'Parasite' stars Choi Woo Sik and Jang Hye Jin reunite as mother and son, sharing intimate emotions as Choi Woo Sik prepares for a farewell with his mother, knowing the exact time when he will eat his mother's cooking for the last time.
