Min Hee Jin, former CEO of ADOR, who parted ways with NewJeans, has hinted at a new beginning with a surprise announcement.
On February 3, Min Hee Jin shared a post on her social media account showing a post-it with the date and time “20260205 10 AM,” along with the official account and website address of a new label named OOAK Records. The accompanying image featured a sky-blue silk shirt intricately embroidered with birds and flowers, alongside the phrase “OOAK Records 2026.”
Visitors to the official website are greeted by an animated sequence in which a face-shaped image transforms in sync with a whistling sound, showcasing Min Hee Jin’s signature sense of distinctive visual identity. The label name “OOAK” is said to carry a double meaning, referring to both “One Of A Kind” and “Only one always known,” emphasizing uniqueness and singularity.

This marks Min’s first official independent move in approximately one year and three months since leaving ADOR in November last year. Notably, the label was reportedly established as early as October last year, suggesting that preparations for its launch had been underway behind the scenes. In a recent interview, Min revealed plans to debut a new boy group, fueling speculation over whether details about the rookie group will be unveiled on February 5.
At present, Min Hee Jin is embroiled in multiple legal disputes with HYBE, including a damages lawsuit worth approximately 40 billion KRW (approx. 27.6 million USD). Despite the ongoing conflicts, she has moved forward with the establishment of her independent label, appearing to follow through on her earlier remarks in which she asked the public to take an interest in “the new K-pop journey I will embark on.”
