Kim Junsu revealed that despite being the head of his company, he does not receive a corporate credit card or a salary.
On the latest broadcast of the MBC variety program ‘Omniscient Interfering View,’ viewers followed “musical legend” and JX member Kim Junsu’s day, which highlighted both his passion for luxury cars and his dedication to work. Previously known for owning as many as 15 supercars, he appeared with a futuristic electric pickup truck that made headlines as the first of its kind in Korea. Arriving at work using the vehicle’s autonomous driving feature, he drew attention from onlookers.
Rather than waiting for official imports, he paid nearly double the price to directly import the vehicle. He also shared the surprising backstory of repainting the silver car gold to create a one of a kind model.
His focused dedication was also evident in the management of the agency he founded and in his approach to talent recruitment. Although he does not have a private CEO office and instead uses a meeting room, and does not receive a corporate credit card or salary, he is known for looking after “his people” to the very end, including three staff members who have been with him for 14 years.
A self described hardcore gamer who once even opened his own PC cafe, Junsu revealed that he ranked in “Master tier,” a level achieved by only the top 1 percent of gamers. He also shared that he personally recruited his manager Seok Hyuk Jin, whom he met through gaming, believing that “games are the best character interview.”
Kim Junsu’s relentless energy reached its peak in both his unique hobbies and his main profession on stage. Recently immersed in horror themed experiences, he visited a haunted house with fellow musical actors Kim So Hyun and Son Jun Ho. While Kim So Hyun screamed at even the slightest noise, Kim Junsu calmly smiled and repeatedly said “Nice,” showcasing the composure of a true horror enthusiast and drawing laughter with their contrasting reactions.
However, once he stepped onto the stage, he returned to his perfectionist self. Through ‘Beetlejuice,’ he took on his first comedy musical, transforming into the green haired character Beetlejuice and flawlessly handling an unprecedented volume of lines and choreography. To deliver even bigger laughs, he discussed different ad libs for each performance in advance.
Meanwhile, some netizens and media outlets compared Kim Junsu’s situation with that of actor Kim Seon Ho, who is currently facing allegations of tax evasion and has returned the amount used on a corporate card, along with salaries paid to family members and even a corporate vehicle.
