Actor Kim Seon Ho has been seen quietly focusing on rehearsals for his upcoming stage play, appearing noticeably slimmer, marking his first public update since allegations of tax evasion surfaced. Despite the controversy, the production has sold out every performance, underscoring his strong ticket power.
The production team behind the play 'Secret Passage' recently released rehearsal photos. In the images, Kim Seon Ho is dressed in a beige knit, standing with his arms crossed and gazing intently at the stage. His visibly thinner appearance and serious expression convey a heavy, restrained atmosphere, even without any accompanying message.
'Secret Passage,' which Kim Seon Ho is set to headline, sold out all scheduled performances immediately after ticket sales opened. The unwavering audience response suggests that public interest in the actor remains strong despite the ongoing allegations.
According to ticketing platforms Nol Ticket and Naver Reservation, all 19 performances featuring Kim Seon Ho have completely sold out. The play runs through March 22, with additional attention focused on the third round of ticket sales set to open on February 10, as audiences watch closely to see whether demand continues.
Recently, Kim Seon Ho became embroiled in allegations that he engaged in tax evasion through a family-involved corporation. The company in question was reportedly established at the same address as his residence in Yongsan District, Seoul, with his parents listed as internal director and auditor. The controversy intensified as the corporation was not registered as a public entertainment management business, raising suspicions that it may have functioned as a paper company with no clear operational substance.
In response, his agency Fantagio, stated, “The corporation was established solely for activities related to theater production, and there was absolutely no intention of tax avoidance or evasion.” Regarding the family-operated structure, the agency explained, “After recognizing that the operation of the corporation itself could lead to misunderstandings, the company ceased operations. For over a year now, there have been no substantive activities conducted through the corporation.”
Fantagio further clarified, “Since the exclusive contract between Fantagio and Kim Seon Ho was signed in February 2025, all settlements have been paid directly to the actor as an individual. We would like to clearly state that the corporation has no involvement whatsoever in the contractual process or activities between Fantagio and Kim Seon Ho.”
Addressing the problematic corporation, the agency added, “As a preemptive measure to correct what was, at the time, a lack of understanding regarding corporate operations, Kim Seon Ho returned all corporate credit card usage, family salaries, and the corporate vehicle.” Fantagio also confirmed that for funds previously settled through the corporation, Kim Seon Ho has fully paid additional personal income tax on top of the already paid corporate tax, and that procedures to formally shut down the corporation are currently underway.
