Former EXO member Tao greeted Korean viewers for the first time in a while through Hong Jin Kyung's YouTube channel.
On the latest installment of Hong Jin Kyung's YouTube series 'Study King Real Genius', Hong Jin Kyung flew to China to study the lives of Chinese 'Wanghong' or internet influencers. One of the influencers she met and interviewed was Tao, who began his career in K-Pop as a member of EXO before returning to China to promote as a singer, actor, and an entrepreneur.
Tao greeted, "It's been a long time. I'm Tao," and revealed that he has been living well after getting married in 2024.
He then introduced his menstrual pad business, stating, "I began this business because I wanted women to feel safe when using such essential items. I have a system where production is monitored at all times, so everyone can feel assured that they were produced under sanitary conditions."
He added on, "I do not feel embarrassed about my work at all. I believe that this is very important and worthwhile work."
At the time of the interview, it had been around 3 months since Tao had officially launched his brand in China. On his sales and profits, Tao commented, "We've sold 150 million pads so far. That's around 30 billion KRW (~ 20 million USD) in profits. But we are currently running 6 factories, and to launch the business, we invested 25 billion KRW. So all in all, we have not broken even yet."
Finally, Tao said to viewers in Korea, "I hope that all of you will be happy and enjoy the present to the fullest in your lives."
