Choi Siwon of Super Junior has once again drawn attention after posting a meaningful message on social media.

On February 23rd KST, Choi Siwon shared a Bible verse, writing, “Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind. Ecclesiastes 12:13.”

The day before, on February 22nd, he had also posted another verse: “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always (1 Chronicles 16:11).”

Previously, Choi Siwon sparked speculation about expressing political views after posting the four character idioms “불의필망 (Injustice must perish)” and “토붕와해 (Collapse like crumbling earth and tiles)” following news that former President Yoon Suk Yeol, who was indicted on charges of leading an insurrection in connection with the December 3 emergency martial law declaration, received a life sentence in his first trial.

The idiom “불의필망” signifies that injustice will inevitably fall, while “토붕와해” refers to the collapse of an organization or nation, often used to describe systemic breakdown.

Choi Siwon was also previously embroiled in controversy after mourning the late Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist known to be a close ally of former U.S. President Donald Trump. At the time, Choi stated, “Regardless of political inclination, I mourned the tragedy as a father of a family and as a Christian.”

In relation to the recent posts, Jeon Han Gil, a former Korean history instructor, mentioned Choi Siwon during his YouTube broadcast, saying, “An entertainer like this is truly thoughtful. You can feel the sincerity and passion in his spirit.” He also publicly invited Choi to perform at a March 1 Independence Movement commemorative freedom concert scheduled for March 2nd.

Meanwhile, SM Entertainment released a statement addressing ongoing malicious comments. The agency said, “We take the seriousness of continuous and repeated personal attacks, insults, and malicious posts very seriously,” adding that they are collecting evidence regarding the creation and spread of false information and derogatory content about their artists across online communities and social media.

They further emphasized, “Legal procedures are already underway for confirmed unlawful acts, and we plan to expand lawsuits in stages. We will respond firmly with civil and criminal legal action without any leniency or settlement.”
